Shanghai Expo 2010
Date: 12/01/2010Shanghai Expo 2010 offers you the opportunity to reach 70 million visitors over the Expo period, May-October 2010. Each day, it is expected that 50,000 people will visit the UK Pavilion. This provides a unique opportunity to demonstrate an innovative and dynamic UK on a global stage. Never before has the UK been so bold in its ambitions as it will be for Shanghai Expo 2010. Covering 6,000sq metres, the UK Pavilion will be a stylised park within the urban area of Expo; an oasis representing the Expo theme “Better City, Better Life.” The aim is to demonstrate the world-class creativity and innovation that underpins daily life and business in the UK. The park will be relaxing as well as entertaining: providing a uniquely different experience for the Expo visitor.
As part of the UK’s offering, there will be an e-pavilion, a web-based pavilion for visitors, who are unable to attend in person. Over the six months, it is estimated that there will be hundreds of millions of hits from around the world. The e-pavilion will offer an interactive platform through which we can deliver joint projects, competitions, quizzes and games.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will develop much of its 2010 business events programmes specifically with Expo in mind, and in co-ordination with both public and private sector Founder Sponsors. There will be themed weeks such as Health, Clean Energy, Culture and Communication in Cities. These provide an ideal platform from which UK businesses can proactively target key audiences and showcase their expertise and experience.
